Software Updates for TUXWIFIW and TUXWIFIS

Software Revision 5.1.13.0_VA

Version 5.1.13.0_VA
Upgrade Posted: 8/22/2014

This software version is for dealers who want to add the following features to their existing TUXWIFIW and TUXWIFIS accounts. Please follow the instructions below to download the new software.

Voice Control – Users can enjoy “Hands Free” control of the Tuxedo Touch™ with specific voice commands. They can perform tasks like arming their system; controlling Z-Wave® enabled lights, locks, thermostats and shades; and video camera viewing and recording. The system recognizes six preconfigured “Voice Commands” that can be tied to 30 customizable scenes. Those commands are as follows:

- Bedtime
- Evening Time
- Leaving the House
- Returning Home
- Wake Up
- Cameras

Local Video Camera Recording – Record two minute video clips from any IP camera connected to Tuxedo Touch. The video clips are stored on the SD card up to the capacity of the card. Users can manually record video by simply pressing the “Record” icon on the video viewing screen or create scenes to record during specified events/times.

Remote Software Downloading – All Tuxedo Touch units that have the above software or later versions can benefit from this feature. Honeywell can push any new software updates to field installed Tuxedo Touch Wi-Fi® (only) units remotely, so dealers don’t have to perform a site visit. Field installed units with previous software versions can be updated manually in order to benefit from this feature for future updates. The instructions for manual software updates follow below.

Additional Customizable Scenes – We have increased the number of customizable scenes from 10 to 30.
Grouping of Similar Devices – We have added a feature called “Groups,” which allows users to save time by combining similar types of Z-Wave devices into one group so they can react the same way in a scene. For example, if users have three lights they want to behave the same way in a scene, they would combine the three lights together into one group and add that group to the scene instead of individually programming each light into the scene.

Software Update Instructions - The following instructions show how to download the software from this site onto an SD card, and how to use that card to update the software on your TUXWIFIW or TUXWIFIS keypads:

  1. Insert a blank SD card into your device drive so you can download the software onto the SD card.
  2. Click on the DOWNLOAD button below and click on Save.

  3. Once saved, double click TUXWIFI_V5.1.13.0_VA.exe. Extract the files to your desktop or a directory of your choice. Once the files are extracted, copy them to the SD card, or extract all files from TUXWIFI_V5.1.13.0_VA.exe directly to the SD card. ALL THE BELOW FILES MUST APPEAR ON THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF THE SD CARD FOR THE UPDATE TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

NOTE: BEFORE PROCEEDING TO STEP 4, PLEASE NOTE YOUR ECP ADDRESS AS THIS WILL BE NEEDED IF UPGRADING FROM AN EARLIER SOFTWARE VERSION. SEE BELOW TO FIND THE ECP ADDRESS

  1. Take the SD card with the software downloaded and insert it into the slot on upper right side of the Tuxedo Touch Wi-Fi Controller. You will hear a snap when the SD card is inserted correctly. (For help locating the SD card slot, refer to the image below).
  2. Now take a paper clip and push in the reset button located on the lower right side of the keypad. (The Reset button is directly behind the “Message LED” on the right side of the plastic. For help locating the Reset button, refer to the image below).
  3. Once a reset is initiated, the Tuxedo Touch Wi-Fi will restart/reboot. This will start the software update process, which will take about one minute.

  4. Once the software update is complete the keypad will automatically reboot.
NOTE: After the reboot you may be prompted to enter the ECP address that was noted before step 4.
  5. To Enable the Voice features and start the training, you will have to review and accept the VOICE: DISCLAIMER / LIMITATION OF LIABILITY on the keypad. Please review the Voice supplement for additional support.

NOTE: ON SOME OLDER REVISIONS, THE TOUCHSCREEN MAY HAVE TO BE RECALIBRATED. SEE BELOW FOR CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS.

Note: This software revision (5.1.13.0_VA) can’t be loaded onto TUXW or TUXS keypads as it is not compatible. Please go to the following link if you would like to upgrade the software on a TUXW or TUXS.

Note: This software revision (4.4.31.L) can be loaded onto TUXW and TUXS keypads that have Rev 4.4.36.L or 4.4.38.L software. DO NOT ATTEMPT to load this software onto a Tuxedo with a Rev LOWER than 4.4.31L (such as 4.1.22R released in February of 2013--date code T035), as this software is NOT COMPATIBLE with Tuxedo keypads manufactured before that date.

Please follow the instructions below to activate Honeywell Total Connect on the Tuxedo Touch:

  1. Go to AlarmNet Direct and set-up or edit the account as usual with the addition of the following:
    1. Click on ADD TUXEDO AUTOMATION.
    2. Enter the Tuxedo MAC address and CRC number (after the update, the CRC number can be found on the System Information screen on Tuxedo Touch).

    3. Set-up the AlarmNet account for Tuxedo Automation

  2. After the AlarmNet account set-up is completed, reset the Tuxedo Touch Wi-Fi by performing a reset as described in item 5 above.
  3. After the keypad resets and the home screen appears, go to the Z-Wave® device management screen to confirm that the blue Honeywell Total Connect (tc) logo appears in the row of icons at the bottom of the screen.

  4. If the “tc” logo appears, proceed to the next step.  If the “tc” logo didn’t appear, re-download the update file and start the process from the beginning. It is likely the update file was corrupted during the download and extraction processes.

  5. Reset the keypad again to synchronize the updated Tuxedo Touch Wi-Fi unit with Honeywell Total Connect.
  6. Important final step – Logon to Honeywell Total Connect and perform a panel sync.
